“This is How Tomorrow Moves”…with a new Beabadoobee tour! The indie favorite has announced a new trek supporting her third album of the same name, due August 16th. She’ll begin on September 8th in Philadelphia, PA, continuing through the 28th in Los Angeles, CA.
The follow-up to 2022’s Beatopia is set to be an an edgy-yet-empathetic autobiography for the 24-year-old singer — a love letter to her younger self filled with all the lessons she learned along the way. The latest single, “Take a Bite,” is a literal walkthrough through her past, in which she reflects on her choices, many of them unhealthy, but which she doesn’t seem to regret. “Do you want to/ do it all over again?” she asks in the bridge, to which many listeners will respond with a resounding “yes.”
“I think I’m more aware of my actions in these songs,” Beabadoobee said about This Is How Tomorrow Moves. “In my previous records, I would consistently sing about my reaction towards other people’s doings, like a blame game. But in this record, it’s accepting that there’s an inevitability of my fault in there too. Whether it’s childhood trauma or relationship issues, it takes two to tango in everything.”
It’s a hard pill to swallow, and also to sing about, but Beabadoobee is willing to accept responsibility for her actions in the form of music. New songs like “Coming Home,” “Real Man,” and “California” are raw, real, and relentlessly catchy.
