“Atmosphere is looking forward to celebrating life with you beautiful people in these beautiful cities,” members Slug and Ant said in a statement. You see, Atmosphere is over the moon (pun intended) about their thirteenth and latest album, this year’s So Many Other Realities Exist Simultaneously.
Described by Spill Magazine as an “almost unnerving excavation of paranoia inspired by the general malaise of a pandemic-weary society full of civil unrest,” it’s undoubtedly a complicated release. But it’s also nothing that the sweet, sweet rhymes of Slug and Ant can’t handle.
Just watch the music video for the first single, “Okay,” an optimistic anthem that encourages you to look past the sadness of the world and put on a smile. Except in much more complex terms. It’s no secret that Ant and Slug are master lyricists and have been for over 25 years, but they’ve touched even more hearts and eardrums with their latest project.
New songs like “Eventide,” “In My Head,” “Thanxiety,” and “Still Life” transport listeners to a new reality, literally. And you may or may not be trying not to cry as you watch them perform these tracks on the Atmosphere tour. What is it about Ant and Slug that gets us with every single performance? And have no fear, as they’ll also be playing their older hits from every passing year.
From “Sunshine” and “Yesterday” to “Puppets” and “Trying to Find A Balance,” you’ll get the ideal combination of songs from every Atmosphere era. Both members have a very distinct rapping style that you’ll need to see to understand, along with other onstage antics that have made them one of the best live hip-hop acts of the past quarter century.
And when you throw reggae from the openers into the mix, you know you’re getting an incredible Atmosphere tour you can’t miss! Will you be there to enter a new reality with the rappers, producers, and moguls? Get your Atmosphere tickets now.
