Midland 2024 Tour Announcement – The Get Lucky Tour Schedule

Midland is ready for a fresh start on the “Get Lucky Tour!” The neotraditional country favorites will kick off on August 9th in Verona, NY, continuing through December 20th in Austin, TX.

Supporting their upcoming fourth album, Barely Blue, set for release in September, this chapter will welcome a new generation of Midland fans. A new auditory journey produced by the legendary Dave Cobb, known for his work with Sturgill Simpson and Chris Stapleton, the boys in Midland have expanded their sound once again…a common occurrence in their decade-long career. But don’t worry, they’ve also maintained the classic country vibes you love them for.

Exhibit A? Their first single, “Lucky Sometimes,” a happy-go-lucky ballad that every member agrees is one of their favorite recorded tracks yet. Singer Mark Wystrach calls it a “get up and go, hot streak, feel good anthem for when it feels like you just can’t lose.” He also explains that “the arrangement is sparse with a high and lonesome groove that crests with soaring harmonies on the hook and refers to it as an “introduction to a new sonic landscape.”

His bandmate Cameron Duddy echoes this sentiment, while also offering his own take on Barely Blue. “We knew we wanted to go somewhere else,” he explains. “We are all big believers in a certain time and place, a sense of classic country that comes from roadhouses and bad coffee, miles and miles and miles on the road – and the idea that, even though we’re all happy, love and life falls apart, but that doesn’t mean you have to, too.”

“When we were writing these songs, it was a trip into all the things in country music we love,” he continued. “You don’t hear much of this kind of unfiltered, hard stuff that comes with the great guitar sounds, the deep harmonies and shuffles you can tuck into. But that’s the essence of what Midland is – and Dave Cobb brought a new altitude to our sound.” You can’t argue with that! Midland has always had a knack for storytelling that hits you right in the feels, whether you’re celebrating a win or nursing a heartbreak.

And somehow, it seems like they’ve elevated the emotions and instrumentals of Barely Blue further than they ever have in their careers. Sure, 2024 marks the 10-year-anniversary of Midland, and we were looking forward to celebrating with old favorites like “Drinkin’ Problem,” “Fourteen Gears,” and “Burn Out.” And while these essentials will likely be on the setlist at the Get Lucky tour, it will also be a time of new tunes and new beginnings for the Texas trio.
