YG 2023 Tour Announcement – Red Cup Tour Schedule
YG is heading on the “Red Cup tour” with OHGEESY and TWOFR in 2023, and the “Turn Up gang” trio is ready to do just that! Catch the rapper beginning January 20th in Denver, CO, with stops in Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, Los Angeles, CA, and more before concluding on February 23rd in Honolulu, HI.
This YG tour supports the rapper’s sixth record, I Got Issues, released in September 2022. Featuring hits like “Scared Money,” with guest vocals from J. Cole and Moneybagg Yo, plus “Toxic” and “Alone,” it’s proven to be one of his biggest projects to date! Clash gave a positive review, stating that the Compton artist “is capable of moving from the most crass word play possible through to aspects of revelatory lyricism – sometimes in the same song.” Meanwhile, Legends Will Never Die calls it “a pretty decent listen from start to finish & a step in the right direction for him.” These songs spit the same bold verses that you’ve loved since his YG’s major label debut, 2014’s My Krazy Life, but with significant growth at the same time.
Of course, in true YG fashion, the record hasn’t been without controversy. He dropped one song from his album, “How to Rob a Rapper,” after the death of fellow hip-hop star PnB Rock in September 2022, which he discussed in a recent interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood. “I was in New York. I pulled up on Meek,” YG explained, referring to Meek Mill, “I played him the song like ‘bro this s**t on my album. The preorder is already up. It’s weird; what do you think?” “So I had conversations about it because it ain’t no situation to play with,” he continued, “it was just the timing… it was bad. It was weird.” It was definitely the right move for YG, who plans to honor his late friend in the best way he knows how… by hitting the stage with his best hip-hop hits.
