Rainbow Kitten Surprise 2025 Tour Announcement – Thanks For Coming Tour Schedule
Rainbow Kitten Surprise are heading back on the road in 2025, and this time they’re calling it the “Thanks For Coming” tour. Let’s just say, it’s a fitting title for a band whose live shows feel like a much-anticipated reunion. They’ll kick off the 2025 Rainbow Kitten Surprise tour on August 5th in Fargo, ND continuing through October 18th in North Charleston, NC.
The group released their fourth album, Love Hate Music Box, last year, after a six-year hiatus from recording…and fans have been buzzing about it ever since. While it may have taken a while to get a new record from RKS, it was certainly worth the wait! New songs like “Peter Pan,” “LOL,” “Superstar,” and “Thanks For Coming,” the namesake of the 2025 Rainbow Kitten Surprise tour, are nothing short of sensational. And just as genre-bending as you’d expect.
With a blend of theatrical folk-pop, gospel-inflected indie rock, and urgent, whispered lyrical reckoning, Love Hate Music Box pushes the boundaries of what the band has done before. And that’s saying quite a bit for a fearless group like Rainbow Kitten Surprise. Per interviews from frontwoman Ela Melo, this record plays like a sonic diary of love, loss, and identity in flux. And it’s their most ambitious project to date.
“They’re not just in our brains, or even in our emotions,” Melo told Consequence about these tracks, which she describes as a balance between love and hate. “They’re a tangible force — as tangible as gravity or electromagnetic energies. They’re real physical forces, and they run the universe. I think there’s a place for all of it. If you hate it, you hate it — now let’s talk about why. If you love it, you love it — let’s talk why.”
That being said, it seems that most listeners are in love with their new album, and rightfully so. Over the years, Rainbow Kitten Surprise has amassed a devoted cult following and earned praise from outlets like Rolling Stone, NPR, and Billboard for their insane live performances and genre-defying songwriting. Their albums have charted on Billboard’s Heatseekers and Top Rock Albums lists, and their songs have racked up hundreds of millions of streams worldwide.
They’ve played major festivals including Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza and sold out venues coast to coast, earning a reputation as one of indie music’s most dynamic and enigmatic acts. And while they took a bit of a break between album releases — with fans waiting on new music since 2018’s How To: Friend, Love, Freefall — they’re now back and ready to rock. Are you?
