Psychedelic Furs are back on the road in 2026, bringing their synth-laced catalog to theaters and clubs across North America. The 70s icons will begin on May 31st in Ojai, CA, continuing through June 14th in Rocklin, CA.
There’s something about hearing “Love My Way” in a packed room that still feels, well, psychedelic…even over four decades later. The bass line rolls in, the synth melody follows, and suddenly everyone’s moving in sync without overthinking it. “Pretty in Pink” lands with that same recognition — transporting you back to the 70s dance floors whether you were physically present or not.
Psychedelic Furs arrived in the UK scene around that time, boasting a sound that never quite fit into one neat label. A little art-rock, a little new wave, a little romantic gloom. Richard Butler’s voice has always been the anchor — the perfect mix of snarl and poetry — and it still cuts through cleanly at nearly 70 years old.
This tour also keeps the Made of Rain era in the setlist, the band’s first studio album in nearly 30 years when it arrived in 2020. Is another new album in the works? We have no idea, but we’re happy for now with a glorious mix of new-wave and post-punk favorites from every decade. These newer songs fit seamlessly into the set with the classics, which only a band as legendary as Psychedelic Furs can pull off.
Unlike a lot of modern artists, a Psychedelic Furs concert isn’t packed with giant screens or over-the-top production. But rather, it’s about the atmosphere and all that comes with it. Guitars shimmer as bright as the choruses while the rhythm section stays locked in, and don’t even get us started on the crowd that sways along to every sweet tune. This is a band that’s never once, in half a century, lost their groove….
