Lettuce and Steel Pulse 2023 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule
Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready for one of the funkiest tours of 2023? Lettuce and Steel Pulse are heading on a joint trek in summer 2023, and it’s going to be all kinds of groovy. They’ll kick off on June 15th in Miami Beach, FL, making stops in Apopka, FL, Hyannis, MA, Cincinnati, OH, and more before concluding on July 8th in Huber Heights, OH.
“See you in the sunshine!” Steel Pulse wrote on Instagram, accompanied by a series of performance clips that one could assume is a sneak peek of the tour. The British roots reggae band has a style that’s unique from Lettuce’s funk sound (more on that later!), but the two groups have plenty in common. They date back decades, playing together at the best jazz festivals, and both have a catalog of catchy hits that makes you want to dance all night!
Let’s start with Lettuce, which has released dozens of funky beats since forming in Boston, MA, in 1992. Known for psychedelic basslines, ripping solos, and vibrant energy that makes you want to get on your feet, you’ll never be bored, even for a second, at a Lettuce concert. We’re excited to hear classic tracks like “The Force,” “Express Yourself,” and “Back in Effect” at these shows, plus all-new tracks from their eighth and latest album, 2022’s Unify!
That’s right; they celebrated the 20th anniversary of their debut project, 2002’s Outta Here, in addition to coming out with an all-new record last year. Modern tracks like “Didn’t You” and “Keep That Funk Alive” just show that they’ve gotten better with age! Lettuce is even embarking on another headlining “Unify tour” in spring before taking the stage with Steel Pulse, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to see a Lettuce concert in 2023.
As for their tourmates? Steel Pulse is also on a roll, with a lively setlist that dates back nearly five decades! The Grammy-nominated roots reggae group has released a whopping twelve albums since forming in 1975, the latest being 2019’s Mass Manipulation. The group continues to put on a powerful show that’s stood the test of time, combining socially conscious lyrics with super-swag-worthy beats for a breathtaking performance. Don’t believe us?
