CIX 2023 Tour Announcement – Save Me, Kill Me Tour Schedule
CIX has announced the “Save Me, Kill Me tour” for spring 2023, taking the K-pop giants to nine US cities. They’ll begin on March 10th in New York, NY, making stops in Washington, DC, Houston, TX, Los Angeles, CA, and more before finishing up on the 26th in Oakland, CA.
The five-piece boy band continues to support its second album, Pinky Swear, released in March 2022, plus the EP, OK Episode 1: OK Not, from last August. The second project serves as a follow-up to their debut album, 2021’s OK Prologue: Be OK, connecting all their recordings in a distinctive way. What does it mean exactly to “be OK,” especially when the subsequent EP (or episode 1) is called “OK Not?” The band mostly wants to leave things up to interpretation when it comes to their fans, though they have elaborated a bit in interviews.
“I think it resembles where CIX stands today,” main vocalist Seunghun told NME about OK Prologue: Be OK. “We went through some tough times, including the pandemic, but now things are looking up, and we’re able to meet our fans after a long time. We’re heading towards more happy days now.” Long story short, OK Prologue: Be OK was a bit of a halfway point when society was in limbo in a post-pandemic world. Now that 2023 is here and live music is back underway, does that mean that their latest EP is the light at the end of the tunnel? We’d say so!
Since CIX formed in 2019, just a year before the world shut down, they never truly got the chance to embark on a world tour. They focused on making music instead, which everybody loved, but fans ached to hear songs like “Movie Star,” Jungle,” and “WAVE” in an amphitheater for the first time!
