Black Violin 2023-2024 Tour Announcement – The Black Violin Experience Tour Schedule
Black Violin is bringing its genre-fusing show to your city! The hip-hop duo with will begin the next leg of “The Black Violin Experience Tour” on January 26th in Tucson, AZ. They’ll continue for more than two months before concluding on April 7th in Norfolk, VA.
“Get ready to be uplifted, inspired and entertained,” Wil B and Kev Marcus wrote on Instagram about the upcoming Black Violin tour. In what world would we expect anything else? For nearly two decades, members Wilner Baptiste (Wil B) and Kevin Sylvester (Kev Marcus) have redefined the values of both hip-hop and classical music. By combining these two genres within the best Black Violin songs, like “A-Flat,” “Dreamer,” and “Stereotypes,” among others, they’ve set a new musical standard that no other artist could meet.
Sure, blending genres is nothing new. But the way that Black Violin pulls together classical harmonies and fresh hip-hop harmonies is nothing short of seamless. With unique beats over emotional lyrics that help to encourage hope in every listener, these songs are a force that bring together people from all walks of life. All you need to do is watch the emotionally-charged music video for “Stereotypes,” which tackles the untrue assumptions about our peers over the course of a three-and-a-half minute, hauntingly beautiful violin solo.
“Our mantra has always been to engage the audience to look at things from a different perspective,” Sylvester said in 2015 after releasing “Stereotypes.” At first, we leaned on the fact that we were different —more than on our technique. We wanted you to be confused. This time, we tried to keep our core message, but with more gravitas: more seriousness. Not just be crazy and different, but really step it up and be badass violinists.”
While it’s been years since he said this, the Black Violin experience has remained constant and 100% captivating ever since. They dive into a diverse musical realm and flurry of emotions where no other artist can go. And the hip-hop-meets-classical music duo hopes that you’ll join them on the road.
