Hanson is hitting the road again, and this time they’re celebrating 20 years of their beloved third album, Underneath! The group will kick off on October 3, 2024, in Minneapolis, MN, and wrap up on November 11th in Los Angeles, CA.
Can you believe that it’s been two decades since the trio of brothers — Isaac, Taylor, and Zac — released this indie gem? As they grew from teenage boys breaking hearts in their “MMMBop” days into young men who wanted to expand their artistry, their music took a more personal and professional turn. Songs like “Penny & Me,” “Lost Without Each Other,” and “Someone (Laissons nous une chance)” exposed them to a new spectrum of fans who fell in love with their floppy hair and flawless vocals.
Now, they’re doing justice to Underneath with front-to-back performances of the album in all your favorite venues. This was Hanson’s first independent album release that proved they were so much more than just a one-hit-wonder, and that’s deserving of something special! What can you expect on the tour, exactly? Let us explain. Each city will host 2-4 nights of performances, with each one containing something unique for a certain subset of Hanson fans.
The first night will feature all-acoustic, unplugged arrangements, perfect for those who love a more intimate setting. The second night will crank up the volume with a full-band electric performance. And as if that’s not enough, Taylor Hanson will be hosting exclusive late-night dance parties on select nights. So, whether you’re into the stripped-down, raw versions of their songs or you want the full loud concert experience, this tour has something for everyone.
In addition to the tour, Hanson is releasing a deluxe edition of “Underneath” on October 4, 2024. This special edition will include seven rare tracks from the original recording sessions and two brand-new tracks. How exciting is that? Hanson has continued to record over the years, with their eighth and latest album, Red Green Blue, coming out in 2022.
